Tuareg "Issawat" from Azawad (Northern Mali) - ballads of the late night gatherings in the nomad camps in the desert. Hypnotic melodies glide over low vocal drones and shuffling rhythms of water drums. Recorded at a local studio in 2008 and released on cassette, Idassane Wallet Mohamed sings some of the popular songs circulating through the bush - where music is transmitted by live performance. A co-release with Mississippi Records. Comes with handmade covers in a limited press of 500.
